Is it possible to reset the count on a spacebar counter?

As a computer user, you may occasionally wonder just how much space you've actually compressed on your keyboard—especially when it comes to your spacebar. Many of us use the spacebar as a shortcut; however, it can feel as if its hard use has caused your key to wear down faster than the others.

You may find yourself searching for ways to reset the count on a spacebar counter. While this doesn't exist in an explicit form, there are several techniques you can try to reduce the strain on your keyboard.

The first option is to stop using the spacebar altogether. No matter how skilled a typist you are, repeatedly hitting the spacebar will eventually degrade its responsiveness and accuracy. Investing in an ergonomic keyboard and reverting back to physical taps of the individual keys can help prolong their lifespan—though this method may take some practice before you become fully confident with it.

Finally, if you must use the spacebar as a shortcut tool in order to increase speed and save time when typing something—but don't want it wearing down any further—you can try replacing it with another key or combination of multiple keys. Depending on which type of keyboard you have and what layout it is set up for, there are various key combinations available such as 'Alt + space' or 'Shift + Spacebar' that could take over from one individual tap of the weary key.
